Founded in 2017 • A micro-negoc based in an early 20th century railway arch in Battersea, South London • Family owned & operated, started in 2017 by Sergio & Lynsey Verrillo. The focus is on English Pinot Noir and Chardonnay from select growers within 2 hours of the winery location in London.
Their aim is to create a range of single vineyard still wines that showcase the English terroir Supporting the local community, leading WineGB Diversity & Inclusion working.
In 2009 Sergio moved to London and started working at Gordon Ramsay’s Maze as a Commis Sommelier. Between 2010-2014 he Studied at Plumpton, working at Nopi/Tamarind/Chez Bruce and in 2012 became aCellar hand at Flowers Winery, CA • 2013, Cellar hand at Calera Winery, CA. In 2014 he Graduated from Plumpton College with a BSC in viticulture & oenology and went on to be the Cellar hand at Domaine de Montille in Burgundy.
2015he was the Cellar hand at Mulderbosch, South Africa working with Adam Mason & Mick Craven and then Cellar hand at Greyfriars Vineyard, Surrey, 2016 Cellar hand at Ata Rangi, New Zealand.
Black Book Produce around 20k bottles annually. They are minimal intervention wines that arequality driven. Indigenous yeast and low Sulphur use and nothing is outsourced, everything is done in house from grape processing to bottling.
