This video is of the Wine Talks British Business podcast features Chris Foss who is the Curriculum Manager at Plumpton Wine college. Chris Foss started his wine career early on working in Bordeaux, France. Whilst Chris was in the Bordeaux area he managed the family vineyard which was in the Entre-Deux-Mers. Whilst in the area he also worked in many other vineyards and wineries. Theses included Sauternes (Chateau d’Yquem) and also Saint Emilion. He became Winemaker for the GFA Leclerc vineyard group too. Chris moved to Plumpton College in England to launch their wine programme in 1988.
Chris's main area of expertise is in vineyard establishment, vineyard management, vine protection and sustainable viticulture. Chris is also the manager of Plumpton’s 10-hectare English vineyard. he is a committee member of Wine GB South-East and is also very active in all areas of wine management. His principal research interests are in learning and understanding about climate change, disease monitoring, vineyard sustainability and he is a member of the Life+ Adviclim research group.
